Event Photography for Hauntingly Beautiful, Squere 1 spaces
GPS was commissioned by Square 1 Spaces to document the private view of the “Hauntingly Beautiful” exhibition held at the Coningsby Gallery. It was a group show of four artists bringing together elements from fashion, design and sculpture. One of the challenges of documenting events is the necessity to focus on multiple elements at the same time; such as visitors, the works, their interaction, the ambient light, red eyes and so on… For general views, we used a wide angle compact camera (Canon G11) and for details like talking or interacting people we used a tele lens (a Nikon 75-300 Macro). On closed and relatively tight spaces if you wish to use a tele lens its better to use one with macro capability since the required focal area may sometimes be closer then a regular tele lens would focus.
For the convenience of the client, we delivered the images in subfolder designated for individual subjects such as artwork interaction, exhibition walk, outside, people talking, people posing, people in exhibition space, space/works and last but not least a misc. folder for images with hybrid subjects.
Here are some of the images, stay tuned for more!
